Vietnam

Vietnam is a country that left me dazzled and remains one of the places I’d most like to return to, because I have the feeling I didn’t quite “get it”. I have visited Vietnam once, but during that trip I travelled all the way through it by rail, from Ho Chi Minh City in the south to Sapa near the border in the north. This journey allowed me to experience the incredible diversity of Vietnam’s landscapes, from tropical lowlands to misty highlands.

This gallery showcases the iconic limestone karsts of Ha Long Bay, the terraced rice fields of Sapa, and the winding mountain passes of the Ha Giang Loop. From tranquil waters to dramatic cliffs and vibrant highland valleys, these photographs capture the rich textures, colors, and moods that make Vietnam such a remarkable destination for landscape photography. Travelling the country by rail gave me a unique perspective on its vastness and variety, making even a single visit feel like a deep exploration.
